Rochdale’s highly-rated teenage midfielder Dan Adshead is reportedly set for a £300,000 move to Norwich City.
Football journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed on Tuesday afternoon City look set to beat a host of Premier League rivals to the signature of the England youth international.
Adshead has been linked to both Manchester clubs and Liverpool in the past but opted to make the breakthrough at Rochdale. The 17-year-old made 16 appearances last season for the League One club.
O’Rourke claims Norwich will look to tie up a deal for the youngster before he turns 18 in September. Rochdale want to keep the prodigy but reportedly understand the lure of a Premier League chance for the youngster.
Norwich’s success under Stuart Webber and Daniel Farke has been forged on astute recruitment and a commitment to youth with the likes of Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey all starring during the club’s Championship title-winning season.
City continue to be linked with a number of future prospects this summer as they look to continue that conveyor belt from the club’s development set-up.
